Think.com
My county offers this service — Think.com – seems like a parallel package for Gaggle.net.

BBC English Classroom
The BBC has a great online resource for teaching English — quizzes, lesson plans, etc. The best thing about it is probably that the categories are organized by type: Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking… (you know the rest). Here’s the link: http://www.teachingenglish.org.uk/try/writetry/writing_activites.shtml.
They also have some online games, and although they are decidedly low-level, they may beĀ useful for special ed. or ell students who are struggling: http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/ks1bitesize/literacy/.
